It’s not just any exercise. Its exercise that results in improvement in cardiovascular health and caloric energy expenditure.
We have learnt from the neuroplasticity science that our hearing systems are plastic i.e. they can be changed, just like the cardiovascular system. Both how hearing and cardiovascular systems change for the better as a result of a positive lifestyle intervention, regardless of age. The message is big.

The other interventions that are important to preserving your hearing as you age are to maintain good body weight, make sure you get enough sleep, learn to meditate and practice mindfulness. Mindfulness helps to reduce your stress and is particularly effective if you have tinnitus.
